Some patients need to replace a series of missing teeth. Perhaps a few teeth were knocked out due to an injury, or gum disease progressed and compromised several teeth in one area of the mouth.

Dental implants are useful in these cases, too. A pair of implants can be used to anchor a bridge to replace a stretch of several missing teeth.

The dental implant placement procedure for multiple teeth replacement is very similar to that used in a single tooth replacement.

The patient comes to the Smiles Unlimited Dental Centre to have two implants placed and may be fitted with a temporary bridge until the implants have fully healed.

Dental implant-supported bridges function at the same level as natural teeth for chewing and speaking.

After the implants have fused with the jawbone, the patient returns to our office to receive the permanent bridge.

Understandably, many patients prefer a bridge secured by dental implants to a removable partial denture. A standard partial is uncomfortable and unattractive. Furthermore, the partial does not work well for chewing. Alternatively, dental implant-supported bridges function at the same level as natural teeth for chewing and speaking.

Patients who need to replace multiple missing teeth can contact our office to learn more about their options.
